The youth band once more took part in the Severn Valley railways 1940’s event over the last weekend in June. The sun beamed down upon us, the midges were biting and the sun cream was forthcoming. The band played exceptionally well, receiving many compliments from the visitors to the railway and some possible new bookings too!
As well as entertaining the crowds with our 1940’s/ big band set, we had fun riding on steam trains, meeting re-enactors, exploring an air raid wardens hut, exploring Anderson and Morrison shelters, looking at vintage cars, visiting the railway museum, sampling old fashioned Victoria sponge, watching the spitfire and other vintage aircraft fly by and having a go at driving a tank!!!
I think it’s fair to say a good time was had by all and we can’t wait to do it all again next weekend!!!
