This weekend saw the turn of our budding youth band at the SVR 40’s event.
For some, this was a first time opportunity to ride on a steam train and really soak up the atmosphere of this very popular and very busy event.
The band began their 40’s experience very early when they met the coach to the event. Our first venue was at Bridgnorth station where the band played in the sunshine to an appreciative crowd before boarding the train to Arley.
At Arley the band played two spots and also had the opportunity to watch a 40’s wedding and join in with some singing and dancing from the era.
The band then moved down the line to Kidderminster where they played to an enormous crowd under the stations glass roof. The band even welcomed guest conductor Peter Hasket, the resident Air Raid Patrol Warden, who traditionally conducts the band for ‘Dad’s Army.’
We are busy uploading some photos and videos from the event, here is a taste of the day
