Both our youth and main bands were delighted to be invited to make our annual trip back in time to take part in ELR 1940’s weekend 2015.
The youth band were first to take to the stage in the nostalgic setting of Bury Transport Museum to perform for a 1940’s tea dance.
Although tea dancers were in short supply, the band received many compliments on the standard of playing.
On bank holiday Monday, the main band followed suit with a VE day concert with 1940’s ENSA entertainer Paul Harper at Bury Transport Museum.
In addition to the band and Paul Harper, other special guests included a visit from Glenn Miller himself and songs from the talented Melissa Harper.

The concert was a great success and was standing room only for the many visitors and re- enactors who came along to sing, dance and wave their flags.
