On the 9th July, Middleton welcomed Neo Brass band to Heywood Civic centre for a joint concert. Neo Brass Band had travelled 5,800 miles from Japan just to play in the joint concert as part of Middleton band’s 140th Anniversary celebrations.

It is the end of an era at Middleton Band as Bob Tresadern and Sylvia Risby have decided that the time is right for them to retire from playing after a whopping 65 years of service each.
We are delighted that our youth band has been chosen by ASDA Pilsworth to take part in their Asda foundation ‘green token’
On 12th June, our band secretary, Jamie Wade undertook the ‘Tour de Manc’ which is a 100-mile cycle around Greater Manchester to raise funds for our youth band. The cycle, which is not for the faint-hearted, took 8:27:59 hours to complete.
To celebrate 140 years of Middleton Band we are holding a reunion event for all past and present members and associates – come catch up with your old pals and celebrate being part of Middleton Band’s 140 years!
This year Middleton Youth Band were absolutely thrilled to join forces with our good friends Besses Boys Youth Band to attend the National Youth Brass Band Championships of Great Britain on 17th April held at the RNCM in Manchester where they gained a bronze award!
